School Newsletter

October is going to be a very busy month!! All of our classrooms finished September with a fieldtrip to the apple orchard. We had a total of 49% family participation and room 104 had the highest at 50%.  We began September on the 1st with back to school night and had a total parent participation of 35% and room 102 had the highest student/family participation with 44%.  Thank you to all the families who were able to come out and participate.  We are looking for at least 55% but of course we would like 100% participation in every event.  Thank you to all the parents that came along to help chaperone at the apple Orchard, we had a great time.  The children enjoyed the apple tasting in their classrooms and many other activities based around apples.  We will have our annual fieldtrip to Kurtz’s Pumpkin Patch on the 12th & 13th.  Chaperones are welcome please make sure you call ahead to be put on the list. We love to have our parents involved on field trips, and other school activities.  Just a reminder it is against our policy for parents to take pictures of children other than your own and post them on social media please be respectful of the other parents and obtain written permission before doing so.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Our annual Fall Festival will be on October 28th.  We will need candy donations and also volunteers to be a part of our “Trunk or Treat”.  We are asking that you decorate your car or trunk and help pass out candy.  We also ask that decorations be age appropriate 3-5yrs. (i.e. popular cartoon characters, t.v. shows, games, etc).  Please call the office to let us know you will participate. We are asking for at least 15-20 cars.  There will be a prize for 2 of the best decorated cars judged by the trick–o-treaters. We will again be rewarding the class with the most family involvement, with popcorn Friday, so even if you don’t enter in your vehicle make sure you come out to trick or treat.

We have begun our Monthly parent meetings, they will be held every 4th Thursday at 6pm.  Please come out and share your ideas and concerns.

Don’t forget we are taking food donations for our annual food drive, which started Monday 9/26.  Each classroom will take a field trip to Community Harvest Food Bank sometime in November and will deliver the goods at that time.
